Curiosity – a strong desire to learn something

How It Started

Throughout my career, I’m constantly learning new things from recent software updates to completely new technology or equipment. Although most of it stays in my head, it’s nice to have a “second brain” to help me out when I can’t remember. I learned about the second brain concept from Tiago Forte’s book Building a Second Brain. In the book, he encourages us to put all ideas, tasks, and responsibilities into a digital note-taking application to help us get organized, which in turn helps us be more creative and share our knowledge with the world.

Focused Curiosity is my little contribution to the world. 🙂

I’ll be sharing reviews, tips and tutorials for digital organization apps and productivity tools. I’ll also include the occasional lessons learned from books I’ve read.

Professional Experience

I have been a multi-passionate solopreneur for 10+ years. As a wife and mom, I understand the frustrations of balancing work, family, and hobbies. I have expertise in graphic design, web design, how-to guides, and video tutorials.

Prior to being a solopreneur, I worked in a variety careers in the USA including childcare, retail, hotels, restaurants, training and development, and online education.

Hobbies

I’ve always been a curious kid, so that’s where the nickname “Curie” came from. I pronounce it kyoor-ee, like Marie Curie the scientist, who I also admire.

I enjoy gardening, papercrafts, drawing and animation, learning new languages, and Choose Your Own Adventure (CYOA) books. I also dabble in whatever hobbies my husband and children are into such as cycling, ukelele, and cosplay.

I usually watch comedy or sci-fi. Some of my fave shows are Parks and Rec, The Good Place, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Abbott Elementary, Lost, The Expanse, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., and Star Trek Strange New Worlds.

I also do not write sponsored blog posts or accept guest posts on this blog. Read more about my affiliate participation on the Disclaimers page.

Socials

To be honest, I’m terrible keeping up with multiple social media platforms. However, I am active at the Anytype community forum. Here’s my Anytype user profile.
